The Aegis Medical Alert System represents the most technologically-advanced home medical alert system of it's kind. The RF wireless technology used provides extended range of use for the transmitter (worn on the wrist or as a pendant) and provides reliable function when it is needed most. The pendants and wrist devices may be worn in the bath or shower and are intended to be worn at all times. The battery life in the wrist or pendant devices requires very low power enabling battery life to be on average 3 years at minimum. The back up battery in the base unit is continuously recharges and powers the unit for over 24 hours in the event of a power outage.The Aegis kit is shipped complete and fully assembled and programmed. It is ready for immediate use and can be plugged into any existing phone jack and power outlet in the home. No additional programming is required!The "hands free" feature of the base unit allows for several benefits to the user. First, the unit contains a speakerphone. In the event of an emergency, the user can have a two way conversation with the Help Advisor without touching the unit and as long as they are within 35 feet of the unit. The unit can be moved at any time if the user changes living arrangements. All that is needed is a new address by our Monitoring Center and we are able to monitor you in your new location.Additional wrist or pendant devices may be added to the system at any time. There is no additional monitoring charge for the additional sensors.
