The book becomes a safe, third-party place to see yourself in the mirror and be aware of how your behavior affects others. Recently a client sent me an email titled "That Darn Marshall". He said it took him 20 minutes to rewrite an email without the words "no", "but", or "however"...but he did it and the response he got back was positive. Unfortunately, if you are a jerk, you are probably not going to read the book. It was a list of poor behaviors that would get most people fired - quickly. I was disappointed as I expected it to elevate my game.
